The White iPhone may come as part of the iPhone 5

The mysterious white version of Apple's iPhone 4 has been teasing potential customers since June when it was originally announced, but as yet hasn't seen the light of day. Unfortunately, fans of the non-existent model will have to wait even longer to get their hands on it, after Apple announced it has pushed back the release date to Spring 2011 (April - June in the US). This is the third delay issued thus far, and in typical Apple fashion, no reason was given.Word on the street is that Apple has resigned itself to incorporating the white iPhone into the 5th iteration of the revolutionary smartphone. Apple's track record suggests the "iPhone 5" will be released in June at their annual developers conference, WWDC, which fits in with their aforementioned 'Spring' release date. This makes sense to me. Despite the well-publicised (some might say excessively so) flaws of the iPhone 4's antenna design, I doubt Apple would release two different iPhone versions in the same calendar year. It's never been done before and I doubt they will start doing it now. If it does happen, then I guess WWDC will focus on the second version of the iPad, and expand on the sneak peek we were given of OS X 10.7: Lion. Those who follow Apple closely would acknowledge that Apple are becoming a little predictable with their product announcements, and no longer are they keeping us on the edge of our seats. This is definitely be a good sign for Microsoft, who launched their Windows Phone 7 Series this week to tremendous response from the tech world, acknowledging Microsoft for bringing somethng truly fresh to the table. It will be interesting to see how Apple counters this, and avoid becoming stale in the eyes of its rabid customer base.
